On startup I get a message saying 'Alert! System battery volage is low. F1 to continue F2 to run setup utility'. What is causing this?
This is a problem with the systems CMOS battery which is a small, round, silver battery located on your computers Motherboard. It
is responsible for maintaining your computers time/date settings and also the BIOS settings. The problem is often caused
by a surge of power to the battery and often happens when a computer is unplugged from the power when switched off.
It is therefore recommended that you
do not unplug your computer after use or make sure your computer is well charged if using a laptop.
The easiest and best way to repair this would be to replace the system battery. If your computer is under warranty this should be covered, but these
batteries are cheap anyway.
