My Task Manager is greyed out and not enabled. How can I enable it?
Below is an image of what you are likely to see when you right-click on your task bar in an attempt to open Task Manager.
Task Manager is disabled
This is a relatively common problem for many people but not too difficult to solve with the help of this guide.
To do this you need to go into your computers registry and edit the setting which controls this.
Go to Start > Run and type 'regedit' (as shown below)
Regedit command
You will then have a menu on the left-hand side of the menu. Select HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > MICROSOFT > WINDOWS > POLICIES > SYSTEM
From there you should have the option to enable Task Manager by double-clicking on DisableTaskMgr and changing the 'Value Data' field from
1 to 0.
This is where you change the setting
You should now be able to see Task Manager by right-clicking on your Task Bar
Task Manager now available
Hope this solves your problem.
